Description
The Kouga Municipality invites tenders for the Phase 4 construction of a 66kV double-circuit overhead line between Humansdorp and Jeffreys Bay. The project involves designing and building approximately 2.3km of new line using galvanized steel poles and Chicadee ACSR conductors, alongside the dismantling of the existing line. The contractor must also replace a 66kV outdoor isolator at the Jeffreys Bay Main Intake Substation. This project is located on private farmland near the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm. The contract requires the successful bidder to manage the design, construction, and site access. The work must be completed according to specific technical standards, including the use of silicon rubber insulators and fibre-optic cables. A 12-month defects liability period applies following project completion.
Requirements
- CIDB grading of 4EP or higher
- Registered on CSD and Kouga Municipality Supplier Database
- Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) pin
- Valid Compensation Commissioner Letter of Good Standing
- Municipal accounts not in arrears for over 30 days
- Letter of intent for a Performance Bond from an insurer
- Key personnel must hold relevant trade certificates and ORHVS
- Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
- Proof of local business status
