Description

Rand Water is issuing a tender for the investigation, drilling, installation, and commissioning of groundwater infrastructure. This project aims to provide water to unserved communities across Gauteng and Mpumalanga. The scope includes drilling boreholes, installing submersible pumps, constructing storage tanks, and setting up solar-powered electrical systems with water treatment kiosks. The contractor must also handle site fencing, pipe reticulation, and provide a 12-month defects liability period. The project is divided into three stages: initial studies, construction, and final commissioning. Successful bidders will be responsible for all testing, quality control, and the submission of operational manuals. The work must meet strict SANS 241:2025 water quality standards and include the installation of automated flow meters. The contract duration is six months, with a handover deadline of 23 May 2027.
