Transnet SOC Ltd is inviting bids for a Biodiversity Interface Footprint and Impact Study. The project aims to map Transnet’s biodiversity footprint across its national rail, port, pipeline, and property assets. The service provider will identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop a Biodiversity Risk Assessment and Implementation Plan, and create decision-support tools. Key deliverables include baseline reports, GIS shapefiles, a risk register, and capacity-building materials. The project will run for 24 months and must align with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework. The study requires ecological surveys and stakeholder engagement across all South African provinces. Bidders must provide a team with expertise in ecology, resource economics, and GIS. The closing date for this tender is 23 October 2026 at 16:00.
