Refurbishment of Steam Traps at Matla Power Station.

Description

Eskom invites tenders for the refurbishment of steam traps at Matla Power Station for a period of 5 years. The work will be performed on an as-and-when-required basis during planned maintenance outages (IR, GO, and MGO) and unplanned maintenance. Key deliverables include the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and re-installation of steam traps, including regulators and strainers. The contractor must provide a detailed method statement and ensure all work complies with the OHS Act and ISO 14001 standards. The project requires the development of skills for unemployed candidates in specific roles such as welders and safety officers. A non-compulsory clarification meeting is scheduled for 14 August 2026, and the tender closing date is 31 August 2026 at 10:00 am. The contract includes a 3% retention fee on invoices to ensure compliance with Supplier Development, Localisation, and Industrialisation (SDL&I) obligations.

What you need to qualify

• CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
• B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
• Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

• Must have valid CSD registration
• Must have valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
• Must have valid COIDA Letter of Good Standing
• Must hold ISO 9001 certification or equivalent QMS
• Must provide audited financial statements for the last 18 months
• Must employ qualified Site Manager, Supervisor, QC Inspector, and Fitters
