The project includes the design, fabrication, and installation of a life-size bronze statue, refurbishment of existing infrastructure, and site improvements such as paving, drainage, and security fencing. The contract duration is 16 weeks, starting 02 November 2026 and ending 12 March 2027. A compulsory site briefing is scheduled for 19 October 2026 at the East London Museum. The tender is a re-measurement contract with a 120-day validity period. Key deliverables include the completed memorial, interpretative plaques, and site furniture. What you need to qualify
- Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
- CIDB grading (Grade 2 General Building (2GB)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

- Attend compulsory site briefing
- CIDB registration of 2GB or higher
- Proven experience in at least three similar statue projects
- Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
- Valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Commissioner
- Valid Contract Works, Public Liability, and Motor Vehicle insurance
- Key personnel must hold SACPCMP, PrCHSA, or NOSA registrations
