Description
The George Municipality invites bids for the reading of water and electricity meters and related services. The project covers the Greater George area, including Uniondale and Haarlem. The successful service provider will manage approximately 38,350 meters, perform meter audits, handle faulty equipment reporting, and establish a local back office. Key deliverables include monthly meter reading programs, comprehensive reporting, and system integration with the Municipality’s SOLVEM Platinum Financial System. The contract runs from the date of appointment until 30 June 2029. Bidders must provide a project manager, a senior supervisor, and twelve meter readers. Performance targets for billable readings increase from 80% in the first year to 90% in subsequent years. Handheld devices must capture photographic evidence for every reading. The closing date for this tender is 12:00 on 06 July 2026.

- Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
- Registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Minimum of three years relevant industry experience
- Must maintain a local office in the George Municipal Area
- Valid B-BBEE certificate
- Proof of ownership or lease for required vehicles and handheld devices
- Current municipal accounts for the bidder and all directors
- System compatibility for SOLVEM Platinum integration
- Minimum functionality score of 70/100 (Stage 1A) and 75/100 (Stage 1B)
