Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the engineering, supply, training, and support of Protection, Control, and Substation Automation Equipment. The project involves taking over existing designs, predominantly based on Hitachi and GE technology, to manufacture, configure, and deliver schemes including swing frame panels and junction boxes. The contract will span up to four years. Successful bidders must provide technical product support, spares, and training for Eskom personnel. The scope covers various protection schemes, gateway kits, and networking devices. Bidders are required to demonstrate the capacity to manufacture and deliver these specialized components within a 15-week lead time. This is a market-testing exercise to inform future procurement planning. All work must align with existing system architecture and safety standards. Interested parties must be able to provide evidence of previous manufacturing experience and technical expertise in configuring SCADA gateway devices and protection schemes.
