Description

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) invites contractors to bid for the construction of gabion structures at the Lowveld National Botanical Garden in Nelspruit. The project involves clearing debris, dismantling damaged structures, and installing new Class A galvanized hexagonal mesh gabion baskets and Reno mattresses. Key tasks include excavating, leveling, compacting, and installing geotextile materials. Due to limited machine access, most work must be performed by hand. The project requires strict adherence to environmental management and health and safety regulations. The contract is a re-measurement type with fixed rates for the duration of the project. Bidders must provide proof of access to specific construction plant equipment and demonstrate experience through five verifiable reference letters for similar projects completed within the last decade.
