The work will be performed across the North Eastern Grid, including various substations such as Kendal, Vulcan, Kriel, and others. The contract is a 3-year NEC3 Term Service Contract (Option A) and will be executed on an as-and-when-required basis for both emergency and normal operational conditions. Key deliverables include the containment and remediation of oil and chemical spills, cleaning of oil dams, and the safe handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste and ozone-depleting substances. Emergency response requires on-site arrival within 24 hours of notification. The contractor must manage all waste documentation, including manifests and disposal certificates, and ensure full compliance with Eskom’s environmental, health, and safety standards.
