Description

The Msunduzi Municipality invites bids for the assessment of runway pavement strength at Pietermaritzburg Airport. The service provider must use the Aircraft Classification Rating and Pavement Classification Rating (ACR/PCR) method to evaluate pavement capacity. Key tasks include analyzing aircraft data, calculating maximum allowable weights, and performing software simulations to ensure compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. The project requires a final technical report and must be completed within two weeks of appointment. The work will take place at 1 Pharazyn Way, Oribi, Pietermaritzburg.

What you need to qualify

  • CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
  • Registered company — An active CIPC-registered company in good standing.
  • Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
  • Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

  • Project leader must hold a Civil Engineering Degree or BTech.
  • Must hold ICAO Airport Pavement Strength Rating (APSR EN) certificate.
  • Must be registered with the South African Institute of Civil Engineers.
  • Must have valid SARS Tax Compliance Status.
  • Must be registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  • Must provide CIPC company registration documents.
  • Must provide proof of up-to-date municipal account payments.
