Description

The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) invites tenders for the repair of structural defects and the replacement of buildings at Popano Secondary School in Botshabelo, Free State. The project involves comprehensive construction work, including demolition, earthworks, masonry, roofing, electrical and mechanical installations, and external site improvements. The contract duration is 21 months from the site handover. The project is subject to the CIDB B.U.I.L.D Programme, requiring local labour employment and mandatory subcontracting of 30% of the contract value to EMEs or QSEs. The work must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations 2014.

What you need to qualify

• CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
• Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
• B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
• CIDB grading (Grade 7 General Building (7GB)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
• Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• UIF registration — Registration with the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
• Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

• Minimum CIDB grading of 7 GB
• Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
• Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
• Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
• Valid COIDA and UIF registration
• Public Liability Insurance with minimum R10,000,000 cover
• Appointed SACPCMP-registered Construction Health and Safety Officer
