The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure invites bids for the maintenance of plumbing and drainage services. This project covers the Nelson Mandela Metro and Sarah Baartman Districts for a two-year period. The work includes emergency repairs, pipe unblocking, sanitary fitting replacements, and general plumbing maintenance. Contractors must complete urgent tasks within 48 hours and standard tasks within seven days. The contract follows a re-measurement model based on the GCC 2015 standards. All work must be completed according to the specified scope, which includes earthworks, masonry, and plumbing installations.
What you need to qualify
- CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
- CIDB grading (Grade 3 Specialist Works (3SW)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

- Valid registration with the Institute of Plumbing South Africa (IOPSA)
- Registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Proof of registration with the Compensation Fund or licensed insurer
- Three written contactable references for past projects
