Transnet Engineering is inviting bids for the leasing, supply, and full maintenance of forklifts and shunting tractors. The contract will run for a period of 36 months. The work will take place at Transnet Engineering facilities located in Durban, Salt River, and Koedoespoort. The service provider is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, breakdown support, and ensuring all equipment meets OEM standards and safety regulations. Equipment must be new or in near-new condition, with forklifts fitted with telematics and tracking systems. The successful bidder must ensure all equipment is fully licensed and undergoes annual load testing by accredited inspectors. Deliverables are governed by individual purchase orders, and the supplier must meet strict performance deadlines, with penalties applicable for late delivery. The project aims to ensure reliable material handling and shunting operations across the specified regional depots.
