Description

The Marine Living Resources Fund is seeking a service provider to perform specialist environmental monitoring for the Aquaculture Development Zone in Saldanha Bay. The project spans thirty-six months and involves benthic surveys, chemical monitoring, reef community assessments, and the maintenance of bottom-moored sensors. The successful bidder will also manage data collection for finfish model validation, monitor Endangered, Threatened, and Protected species, and assess effluent discharge from land-based facilities. Key deliverables include quarterly environmental sampling reports and the ongoing update of monitoring protocols. The work requires a highly qualified team, including a project leader with an MSc in Marine Natural Sciences and a certified scientific dive team. This project is essential for ensuring compliance with environmental authorizations and management programs in the region.
