Johannesburg Water is seeking a qualified specialist to collect and dispose of asbestos pipe off-cuts from eight depots across Johannesburg. The selected contractor must transport the hazardous waste to a licensed landfill site. Key deliverables include providing specialized personal protective equipment for the disposal team, submitting a formal asbestos management plan, and providing official waste manifests, weighbridge slips, and safe disposal certificates within seven days of completion. The work will take place at the Avalon, Klipspruit, Southdale, Langlaagte, Randburg, Hamberg, Midrand, and Ennerdale depots. Non-compulsory site visits are scheduled between 14 July 2026 and 16 July 2026 to assess the waste quantities. The project requires a contractor with at least five years of experience in asbestos handling and disposal.
