Rand Water is inviting bids for the appointment of service providers to supply, deliver, and install cathodic protection rectifiers and monitoring points, as well as provide maintenance services for the cathodic protection systems across the Rand Water pipeline network. This project is set for a duration of 3 years. The work involves reinstating vandalized systems, including the supply of transformer rectifier units, forced drainage units, and various monitoring equipment. The project covers four major systems: Combine, Palmiet, Mapleton, and Eikenhof. Key deliverables include the installation of equipment, conducting system surveys, coating inspections, and ongoing maintenance. The project also requires a mandatory skills development component. The contract is expected to commence by 1 January 2027, with a final handover date of 30 January 2030. A maximum of four suppliers will be appointed for this contract.

- Must maintain professional registrations with ECSA, SACPCMP, or NACE
- Must provide proof of COID, Professional Indemnity, and Public Liability insurance
- Must provide 3-year audited financial statements and current management report
- Must commit to 30% subcontracting to 51% black-owned QSE or EME
- Must provide proof of equipment calibration by SANAS-accredited bodies
