Safety Systems Upgrade for Lithium-Ion Lab.

Description

The CSIR invites quotations for the installation of safety systems and facility upgrades for a Lithium-Ion battery testing laboratory at its Stellenbosch campus. The project includes HVAC installation, electrical distribution and lighting, and fire detection and gas suppression systems. The successful contractor will manage the full scope of work, including coordination, testing, and commissioning. All personnel working on-site must be South African citizens due to the facility's security clearance. The work must be completed in accordance with the provided technical specifications and Bill of Quantities.

What you need to qualify

• CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
• Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
• CIDB grading (Grade 3 Mechanical Engineering (3ME)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
• Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

• Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
• Valid CIDB grading of 3SF/3ME or higher
• Minimum R2,500,000 public liability insurance coverage
• Valid Department of Labour electrical contractor registration
• SAQCC certification for refrigeration, gas, fire detection, and integrity testing
• Valid PSIRA registration for fire detection systems
• Valid COIDA Letter of Good Standing
• Proof of valid tax compliance
• Two reference letters per discipline: fire, HVAC, electrical, and gas suppression
• SAQCC-registered technicians with minimum three years experience
