The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking a service provider for the classification, collection, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste. This project will take place over a period of thirty-six months. The selected provider must handle various hazardous materials, including laboratory chemicals, fluorescent tubes, and asbestos. Key responsibilities include providing qualified staff, necessary protective equipment, and suitable waste containers. The provider must ensure that all transportation vehicles are properly registered for dangerous goods and equipped with tracking devices. Additionally, the provider must ensure that all waste treatment and disposal processes follow strict environmental regulations. The service provider is required to respond to on-site requests within 72 hours of notification. This contract aims to ensure that all hazardous waste generated by the department is managed safely and legally throughout the three-year term.
