- CIDB grading (Grade 9 Civil Engineering (9CE)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certification
- Public Liability Insurance of at least R20,000,000
- Three-year audited financials with R200 million average turnover
- Bank rating of C or higher
- Valid COIDA Letter of Good Standing
- Key engineering personnel must hold ECSA registration
- Safety Officer must hold SACPCMP registration
