Description

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) invites proposals for the maintenance and repair of lifts and escalators in the Western Cape Region. This contract will run for a period of 36 months. The scope of work includes both scheduled monthly preventive maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs on an as-needed basis. The service provider must manage 23 specific units across various stations, including Cape Town, Bellville, and Khayelitsha. Key tasks involve inspecting mechanical components, controllers, and safety equipment to ensure 95% asset availability. The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, tools, and materials. Work must be performed in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Bidders must attend a compulsory briefing session on 02 September 2026 at the Cape Town Station Shosholoza Meyl waiting area. The project requires a service provider with a CIDB grading of 4SI or higher.
