Description

The Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the appointment of a Facility Operator for a Floating Dry Dock at the Port of Cape Town. This is a 25-year concession project involving the design, financing, construction, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning of the facility. The project is located at Repair Pier 3, Duncan Dock. The operator will be responsible for all capital and operational costs, providing a common-user service for vessel repairs. The tender process includes a non-compulsory briefing session on 25 August 2026. Bidders must demonstrate technical and financial capacity to manage the facility lifecycle. The concession includes a ramp-up fee structure and requires the transfer of infrastructure back to TNPA at the end of the term. The closing date for all proposals is 07 December 2026 at 16:00.
