The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health is seeking to appoint a panel of service providers to deliver aeromedical services across the province. This contract will run for a period of three years on a case-per-case basis. The scope includes providing rotor-wing and fixed-wing aircraft for medical emergencies, patient evacuations, and inter-hospital transfers. Successful providers must meet strict mobilization timeframes, ranging from five to fifteen minutes depending on the aircraft type and mission. The service requires fully equipped air ambulances staffed by qualified medical personnel, including Emergency Care Practitioners. All operations must adhere to South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations and National EMS standards. Flight dispatch will be managed by the Provincial Health Operations Center, and all claims require official authorization. This tender aims to ensure rapid, reliable medical transport for patients throughout KwaZulu-Natal.
