South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting bids for a 25-year Public Private Partnership (PPP) to manage the Jakkalsbessie Concession Area in the Kruger National Park. The project involves the finance, refurbishment, operation, and maintenance of Tinga Lodge and Narina Lodge, located near Skukuza. The successful bidder will manage 5,500 hectares of land, including 120km of roads, and provide luxury tourism services such as game drives and accommodation. Key deliverables include upgrading existing infrastructure, maintaining high hygiene and environmental standards, and managing staff. The operator must ensure compliance with the National Building Code and the Kruger National Park Management Plan. The project requires significant financial capacity, with a minimum monthly concession fee starting at R390,000 in the first year, increasing to R530,000 in the second year.
