The George Municipality invites contractors to tender for the execution of electrical capital projects on an as-and-when-required basis. The work involves electrical reticulation in informal settlements, including underground cable installation, transformer and ring main unit installation, overhead lines, and streetlighting. The contract period runs from the date of appointment until 30 June 2029. A maximum of five contractors will be appointed to a panel. A compulsory briefing session will be held on 27 July 2026 at the George Civic Centre. Bidders must provide a qualified Site Supervisor with valid ORHVS certification and five years of experience. All trenching and backfilling must be performed by hand using local labor.
