The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking electrical contractors to supply, deliver, and commission 25m counter-balance high-mast lighting structures. This work will be performed on an as-and-when required basis across the North, South, and East regions of the municipality. The contract will run from the date of award until 30 June 2029, with the project being awarded to a maximum of three successful bidders. Key deliverables include the design, construction, and installation of masts, as well as training municipal staff on safe operation and maintenance. Contractors must also provide a full data dossier for each mast, including as-built drawings and test results. The project requires specialized engineering oversight and adherence to local content thresholds for steel and electrical components.

- CIDB grading (Grade 5 Electrical Engineering (Infrastructure) (5EP)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

- Project engineer must hold valid ECSA professional registration
- Valid Code C1 driver license, PrDP, and C43 crane operator certificate
- Registered electrical contractor with Department of Labour
- Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN
- Three years of audited or independently reviewed financial statements
- Proof of financial access to at least R650,000
- Proof of ownership or lease for crane truck (minimum 3,500kg GVM)
- Valid OEM or authorized distributor authorization letter
- Valid Letter of Good Standing with the Compensation Commissioner
- Compliance with local content thresholds for steel and cables
