Description

The eThekwini Municipality is seeking a service provider for an income-generating contract involving the supply, installation, maintenance, and operation of advertising receptacles on streetlight poles. The project covers the Durban area for a 36-month period. The successful bidder must manage at least 5,000 units, ensuring all advertising complies with municipal standards. Key tasks include installing durable, fade-resistant poster displays, managing electricity connections for illuminated signs, and removing unauthorized advertisements. The provider must maintain a local office within eThekwini for the duration of the contract. Deliverables include a health and safety plan, regular turnover reports, and a revenue-sharing model. The contract requires a minimum monthly payment to the municipality of R650,000.00 or 20% of gross revenue, whichever is higher.
