Description

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) invites proposals for the appointment of a panel of suppliers to provide and deliver OHTE and substation materials. This project covers the KwaZulu-Natal region and will operate on an as-and-when-required basis for a period of 36 months. The scope of work is strictly limited to the supply and delivery of electrical components, including cables, wires, insulators, isolators, steel components, consumables, and general electrical materials. Successful suppliers must ensure delivery within 21 working days of receiving a purchase order. This panel will support the maintenance of over 2000 km of railway infrastructure. A compulsory briefing session will be held on 12 August 2026 at the PRASA KZN offices in Durban. All proposals must be submitted by 04 September 2026.

  • Tax clearanceA valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
  • Letter of Good StandingCOID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
  • Other registrationAn industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

  • Attend compulsory briefing session
  • Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
  • Minimum R50,000 liquid cash flow
  • Relevant industry quality accreditation (e.g., SABS)
  • Proven experience via appointment letters and reference letters
  • Completed security screening and disclosure of active directorships
  • Valid PSIRA registration and letter of good standing
