MV Switchgear, Transformer, and Minisubstation Maintenance and Training

Description
The City of Cape Town is seeking contractors for the maintenance of medium voltage switchgear, transformers, and mini-substations. The project includes performing inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and functionality testing, alongside providing on-the-job training for city staff. Work will take place in Cape Town over a 36-month period. Contractors must be able to respond to emergency faults within four hours. The city plans to appoint two contractors per work category. Key deliverables include technical maintenance reports, training manuals, and video documentation for staff development.
Requirements
- Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN
- Registered on CCT Supplier Database and National Treasury CSD
- Public Liability (R20m), Motor Vehicle Liability, and COID registration
- Workshop facilities within 70km of Bloemhof Electricity Headquarters
- Calibration certificates for all test equipment
- Documented access to spare parts
- Trade tested Electrician or NQF Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification
- Documented experience and references for specific switchgear models
