Description

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety is seeking to lease two mission-ready helicopters for a period of thirty-six months. The project aims to support aerial observation, traffic management, road safety operations, and incident response. The successful bidder must provide two airworthy helicopters, each capable of carrying at least one pilot and five passengers, with a minimum cruise speed of 130 knots. Key deliverables include 24/7 flight operations, the installation of advanced thermal imaging cameras on one helicopter, and full branding of both aircraft within 30 days of the contract start. The service provider must supply qualified pilots and engineering staff, maintain a flight control centre, and submit post-flight mission reports within 24 hours. Operations must be based within the Gauteng Province, including hangarage and maintenance facilities. The contract requires a maximum of 60 flight hours per helicopter per month, totaling 120 hours monthly for the department.
