Description

The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform in the Eastern Cape is seeking partners to commercialize black small-scale grain value chains. This project aims to collaborate with farmers to develop agro-enterprises for crops like maize, soybean, and wheat. Key activities include crop production, infrastructure development, agro-processing, and market access. Partners will be selected for a database to serve from 2026 to 2031, with individual contracts lasting one to three years. Applicants must integrate production, processing, and marketing into their business models. The work will take place across the Eastern Cape, requiring a minimum investment of R1 million per commodity. Successful partners must demonstrate financial capacity and provide comprehensive operational plans.

  • Signed Joint Venture Agreement if applicable.
  • Key staff must hold relevant agricultural, project, or financial management qualifications.
