Description

The eThekwini Municipality is inviting tenders for the supply and delivery of Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas. This service will be provided to the Electricity and Energy Directorate on an as-needed basis over a thirty-six-month period. The work involves supplying new gas in 20 kg cylinders, collecting and refilling municipal-owned cylinders, and performing necessary inspections and testing. Deliveries must be made to the HV Substations Branch in Springfield, Durban. The contractor must ensure all gas quality meets international standards and provide full traceability documentation, including quality certificates and safety data sheets. The contract is scheduled to run from November 2026 to November 2029. Bidders must maintain a local office within the eThekwini municipal boundary for the duration of the contract and ensure all personnel are trained in safe handling and transportation of hazardous goods.
