The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) is seeking a qualified Tax Expert to provide advisory and compliance services regarding VAT on imported services. The work will be conducted for SANAS and involves determining VAT applicability, conducting transaction reviews, assisting with VAT submissions, and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The project is expected to last between 2 and 3 months, with a target completion date of July 2026. The appointed expert will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of experience in South African taxation, specifically in VAT compliance and imported services, and provide a history of successful projects.

- Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
- B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
- VAT registration — A registered VAT vendor number with SARS.
- Import/export licence — A SARS importer's/exporter's code for cross-border goods.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).
