Always check the official documentDescription
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) is conducting market research for high-capacity cryogenic storage systems. This project aims to identify technology that can store at least 30,000 cryovials at temperatures below -150°C. The systems must operate independently without needing regular liquid nitrogen refills. Key deliverables include technical datasheets, validation documentation, and a detailed breakdown of the total cost of ownership over five years. The project requires the selected technology to include installation, performance testing, and staff training. Providers must also outline their local support and maintenance capabilities within South Africa. This is a research exercise to help the SAMRC plan for future procurement needs.
Full requirements
- Must possess dry vapour-phase storage technology
- Minimum storage capacity of 30,000 cryovials
- Must maintain temperatures below -150C without external liquid nitrogen
- Must have integrated temperature and liquid nitrogen monitoring with alarms
- Must provide evidence of manufacturer authorization for distributors
