- CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
- Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
- CIDB grading (Grade 2 Mechanical Engineering (2ME)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

- Valid COIDA Letter of Good Standing
- Valid ECSA Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) certification
- Minimum of 3 reference letters for similar work
- Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- LMI must have at least 5 years of experience
