Description

Transnet National Ports Authority is inviting tenders for concrete repairs inside the drydock at the Port of Durban. The project involves demolishing existing concrete, surface preparation, pouring 30MPa concrete, and installing stainless steel handrails and electrical lighting. The contractor must manage dewatering and create a dry working space using sandbags. The contract duration is six months, with a total completion timeline of eight months. Work will take place at the Bayhead precinct, Monday to Friday, from 07:30 to 15:30. The project requires strict adherence to SANS concrete and welding standards, including the use of Grade 316L stainless steel. Bidders must provide a Project Manager, General Foreman, and a SACPCMP-registered Safety Officer. All environmental and safety management plans must be approved by Transnet before work begins. The tender is issued under the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (Option B).
