The Independent Power Producers’ Office (IPP Office) is seeking a Technical Transaction Advisor to support the conversion of the Avon and Dedisa peaking power plants from diesel to gas-fired. The project involves reviewing existing Power Purchase Agreements, conducting technical evaluations, and managing stakeholder engagement to achieve financial close. The work will take place in South Africa and is expected to last at least 36 months. Key deliverables include technical reports, comparative analysis of power provisions, and ongoing advisory support through the project implementation phase. The appointment aims to ensure the successful transition of these facilities to gas-fired operations.
What you need to qualify
- CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
- Registered company — An active CIPC-registered company in good standing.
- Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
- B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).
Full requirements
- Team Leader must hold ECSA or equivalent professional registration
- All team members must possess relevant academic qualifications
- Proven experience in thermal power projects of at least 50MW/MVA
- Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN required
- Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit required
- Must provide CIPC company registration and share certificates
