The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning is seeking a service provider to develop a soil organic carbon (SOC) monitoring methodology. This project aims to support land-based climate change mitigation efforts across the Western Cape. The successful bidder will establish a baseline for carbon levels, create a data collection system, and provide GIS-based products. Key deliverables include a project inception report, a baseline SOC profile, an opportunity assessment report, and capacity-building training for government officials. The project must be completed by 15 March 2027. The work requires expertise in climate change mitigation, data analysis, and GIS mapping. All GIS products must be signed off by a registered professional and be compatible with ESRI software.
