Transnet Freight Rail is inviting tenders for the cleaning of locomotive ablution facilities at the Saldanha, Sishen TE, and Sishen New Yard depots. The contract will run for a period of 36 months. The scope of work includes cleaning toilets and cubicles, emptying retention tanks, and refilling water for both chemical and septic systems on locomotives. The contractor must provide a team of 9 people, including a supervisor, to ensure 24/7 service coverage. All cleaning chemicals used must be SABS-compliant. The contractor is also responsible for the housekeeping of Transnet-provided facilities and will be held liable for any damages to equipment or furniture. A non-compulsory briefing session will be held via Microsoft Teams on 30 October 2026.
