Description

The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) invites service providers to research the validation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as a diagnostic tool for sealed Self-Contained Self-Rescuers in the mining sector. The work involves literature reviews, benchmarking against international standards, developing NDT procedures, and conducting a test programme on SCSR units. The project will be based in Gauteng and includes hosting a hybrid workshop for industry stakeholders. The successful bidder must deliver comprehensive research reports and a final guidance document over an 18-month period. The project team must demonstrate at least 10 years of specialized experience in NDT technology and occupational hygiene within the South African mining industry.
