Description

The Eastern Cape Department of Education is inviting contractors to submit an Expression of Interest to join a database for electrical engineering works. This includes both building and infrastructure projects at education facilities across the Eastern Cape. The appointment will be for a period of three years, and successful contractors will be called upon to perform work as and when required, including emergency repairs. Contractors must be prepared to respond to urgent needs within the province. The department is looking for competent service providers to ensure the maintenance and functionality of electrical systems in schools and administrative buildings.

What you need to qualify

  • CSD registration — Registration on the Central Supplier Database — required to do business with government.
  • Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
  • CIDB grading (Grade 2 Electrical Engineering (Building) (2EB)) — A Construction Industry Development Board grade in the right class of works.
  • Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).

Full requirements

  • Active CIDB grading of 2EB/2EP or higher
  • Registered on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
  • Key personnel must hold Electrical Trade Test and wireman license
  • Proven track record of at least three similar completed projects
