Description

The eThekwini Municipality is seeking a service provider for the field installation of Electricity Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) components. This project covers the installation, exchange, commissioning, and testing of various residential and commercial meters within the eThekwini area. The contract will run for a period of 36 months. Key deliverables include verifying smart meter communications, managing customer handovers, capturing installation data, and handling tamper inspections. The contractor is responsible for the secure management of municipal stock and must maintain strict quality control standards. The project requires a team of qualified personnel, including an ECSA-registered project manager, trade-tested electricians, and quality auditors. Work is performed on a rate-based, re-measurement basis.
