Description

The South African Post Office invites bids for the provision of national Linehaul Transportation services for a period of four months. The work involves moving consignments and parcels across various routes using different vehicle types, ranging from 1-ton vehicles to 18m trailers. The service provider must manage fuel, tolls, maintenance, and driver costs. The Post Office does not guarantee return loads, and vehicle usage will depend on actual daily volumes and operational needs. Bidders must have at least five years of experience in Linehaul transportation and must have served at least three different clients during this period. The successful bidder is expected to focus on continuous improvement to achieve cost-efficiencies. All pricing must be submitted as a cost per kilometer per vehicle type and route, inclusive of all operational expenses. The contract is valid for 120 days from the closing date of 31 July 2026.
