Description

The South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) is seeking a service provider for the maintenance and installation of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. The work will take place at the SAAO facility in Observatory, Cape Town. The contract covers a three-year period and includes both planned preventative maintenance and emergency reactive repairs. Key deliverables include regular equipment inspections, system upgrades, and the supply of new HVAC units. The provider must submit monthly status reports and an annual condition report. Technicians must be available 24/7 for emergency repairs and respond to work requests within 24 hours. All new installations require a 12-month defects liability guarantee.

  • Valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration
  • CIDB grading of 1 ME or higher
  • Public Liability Insurance of at least R500,000
  • Valid COIDA certificate
  • Technicians must hold SAQCC Gas registration
  • Technicians must hold relevant HVAC trade certificates
  • Proof of status as approved Daikin and Samsung installer
  • Three reference letters for similar HVAC projects
  • Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
