The Department of Tourism invites proposals to implement the Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) for the Chef Occupational Qualification (NQF Level 5). The project will support 50 experienced chefs, with 25 participants located in KwaZulu-Natal and 25 in the Western Cape. The selected service provider will manage recruitment, training, assessments, and gap closure sessions to ensure candidates meet the requirements of the QCTO, NAMB, and CATHSSETA. Key deliverables include a comprehensive project plan, candidate induction, formal assessments, and the hosting of a graduation ceremony. The entire programme must be completed within a six-month period, with the provider submitting regular progress reports to the department.

- Tax clearance — A valid SARS tax compliance status (PIN) showing your tax affairs are in order.
- B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
- Letter of Good Standing — COID registration and a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).
