The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites bids for debt collection services in the Eastern Cape region for 36 months. The service provider will manage the recovery of outstanding social assistance and staff debts, currently totaling over R21.7 million. Key tasks include issuing letters of demand, tracing debtors, negotiating payment agreements, and initiating legal action through attorneys. The provider must supply a dedicated project manager, maintain a functional debt collection IT system, and provide monthly recovery reports. The work will be performed in the Eastern Cape, with a compulsory briefing session held in East London. The contract operates on a commission-based, no-recovery-no-fee model.
