The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) invites bids for a research project to investigate the reduction of Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) exposure risks linked to backfill in underground gold mines. The work will be conducted across sites in Gauteng, the Free State, and the Northwest province. The successful service provider must perform literature reviews, characterize backfill materials, monitor RCS concentrations, and evaluate current dust control measures. Key deliverables include comprehensive research reports, a draft guidance document for best practices, and a stakeholder workshop. The project duration is 18 months, consisting of 15 months for research and 3 months for administrative finalization.

- B-BBEE certificate — A B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit confirming your contribution level.
- Other registration — An industry registration the tender requires (e.g. PSIRA, NHBRC, a professional or trade licence).
